Introduction

The new F 800 GT is a true “Gran Turismo” dynamic touring motorcycle that replaces the popular F 800 ST. The new F 800 GT offers more comfortable long distance ergonomics, improved weather protection, several new options, improved saddle bags and top case with more carrying capacity, a striking new design and colors, plus more power from its twin-cylinder engine to get things moving faster than ever.

New and Improved

The new F 800 GT offers a new design, ergonomics and features for improved touring abilities over its predecessor, the F 800 ST.

Improved Weather Protection: New Fairing and Windshield

Perhaps the most noticeable change.

The new F 800 GT appears more emotional and dynamic, while at the same time looking like a more substantial motorcycle.

Significant wind and weather protection from the higher windshield and new fairing.

More Power

  • Revised engine mapping for 90 hp (+5 hp).
  • New, shorter rear silencer and new exhaust manifold.
  • New exhaust heel guards.

New, Enhanced Touring Options and Ergonomics

  • Reduced standard seat height (-1.6 inches) for improved rider confidence.
  • The new seat is wider and has extra padding for increased comfort.
  • Repositioned rider footrests: 0.4 inches forward and 0.4 inches lower.
  • Handlebars positioned 0.8 inches higher.
  • Increased payload (+24 lbs) via a redesigned rear frame to offer more carrying capacity.
  • The rear frame redesign also features new, more appealing rear footrests.
  • Longer, single-sided rear swing arm (+2 inches) for increased stability.
  • Improved rear spring preload adjustment hand wheel is easier to use.
  • New, optional ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) adjusts rear suspension rebound damping. The rider can choose between Comfort, Normal and Sport settings.

New Safety Features

  • Latest 2-channel BMW Motorrad ABS as standard equipment. The new system is lighter and more compact and it also features an additional pressure sensor in the front brake circuit to optimize system intervention.
  • New, optional ASC (Automatic Stability Control) expands active safety helping prevent rear wheel spin.
  • New, translucent brake fluid reservoirs.

  • Standard: 31.5 inches (standard set height reduced by 1.6 inches; the new seat is wider and offers extra padding for improved rider comfort)
  • Low Seat: 30.1 inches
  • Comfort Seat: 32.3 inches

New Optional Features

  • ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) adjusts the rear suspension damping. The rider can choose between Comfort, Normal and Sport settings.
  • ASC (Automatic Stability Control) expands active safety helping prevent rear wheel spin.

  • Expanded functionality (instrument cluster readout and switches) to include the optional ESA and ASC functions.
  • New instrument cluster dials offer improved readability
  • Standard fuel level and engine temperature bar readout (previously only available with the optional on board computer).
