2012 BMW Motorcycle Model Basics

BMW has released detailed information for their entire 2012 motorcycle lineup including some very exciting new colors and models. Probably the biggest news coming out of Germany is that BMW will finally produce not one, but two, all new scooters for 2012. Both scooters will be considerd ‘maxi-scooters’ meaning that they feature relatively large displacement engines and are meant to be very stable at highway speeds. Although BMW’s scooters have gotten the majority of the attention at the major European motorcycle shows, there are plenty of other developments throughout BMW’s lineup to get excited about. Another, big change for 2012 is that BMW is now making ABS standard on all of their motorcycles thus increasing the base price by the cost previously associated with the optional ABS. We’re HUGE believers in the value and merit of ABS on motorcycles and expect the rest of the industry to follow BMW’s path to ABS-standardization in the coming years.
