Motorcycle Rentals
We do not rent motorcyles here at BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco, but we have a working relationship with some folks that do. If you have ever dreamed of riding the Pacific Coast Highway or cruising the foothills of Gold Country, do it on a BMW from Dubbelju. You won't regret it.
Dubbelju Motorcycle Rentals
San Francisco's oldest motorcycle rental operation, is also the City's finest. With a fleet of motorcycles that heavily features BMW's most popular models, Dubbelju can set you up with the right ride to take you on your dream motorcycle vacation. If you are interested in guided tours, Dubbelju is again the place to call with trips throughout California and the world. Plus, if you rent a BMW from Dubbelju and then buy a new BMW Motorcycle from us within 6 months, we'll apply one day's rental to the new bike purchase. So go ahead and take that 'extended test ride' you've been contemplating by renting with Dubbelju.
Trip Organizers and Riding Groups
Looking for some riding buddies or a new motorcycle adventure? These operations specialize in having all kinds of fun on two-wheels. Our GM Larry has been on rides with many of these groups so give him a call (415-503-9943) if you want first person feedback or have questions. Also check out our 'Events' page if you are looking for ride info.
McCloud Dual-Sport Adventures
This operation just got started in 2009 but what they lack in experience they more than make up for in attitude. Although they will cater to more experienced riders, McCloud offers a great way for novie to intermediate dual-sport riders to ride through some amazing terrain. McCloud has a number of rides planned for 2010 and we encourage all enduro enthusiasts to them a try.
RawHyde Adventures
BMW's official west coast off-road training facility is actually operated by a fellow by the name of Jim Hyde. RawHyde specializes in the delivering the dream of riding large adventure motorcycles through the mountains and deserts of Southern California. Please be advised that while there a variety of courses offered at RawHyde, the riding can be strenuous. We think that novice dual-sport riders should get some experience elsewhere before signing up for the RawHyde experience. Advanced riders should check out their annual rallies, as they typically involve some crazy competitions and awesome rides.
Track Days and Schools
One of the best and safest ways to better understand motorcycling is to practice on a closed course where everyone is going in the same direction. These track day and school operators will help you become a better rider while having a ton of fun. We wish we could live at the track.
RedShift
We are friends with one of Red Shift's instructors and we think they run a great operation. Red Shift splits everybody into separate groups to make sure that everyone is able to get ample track time while feeling comfortable out on track. If you are a race track novice, we'd highly recommend you give Red Shift a try. Just beware, riding a motorcycle on a race track is highly addictive.
California Superbike School
Keith Code's California Superbike School is one of the most famous and popular riding school in the world. Starting in 2010, participants will have the option of riding a BMW S1000RR or their own motorcycle while at the school. If you don't own an S1000RR, we highly recommend spending the day with one of Keith's, they're lots of fun. California Superbike School offers tons of instruction that is sure to make a better rider, regardless of your current experience level. Check 'em out.
Apparel
The gear you need to keep you safe and comfortable while riding. We only recommend and carry brands that we believe in.
Kushitani USA
Although less of a household name these days, Kushitani has been making top-notch leathers for decades. We carry a few of Kushi's high-end racing gloves and jackets but we can also order most Kushitani items and have them in a couple of days. BMW recently partnered with Kushitani USA to produce some special jackets to go along with the release of the S1000RR, which will be available in spring 2010. If you want leathers with an understated class and unparalleled quality, look no further than Kushitani
BMW Apparel
BMW is constantly pushing technology with their vehicles and the same can be said of their riding gear. Using some of the strongest textiles available to the motorcycle industry, BMW has established a reputation as making some of the most functional, practical and comfortable apparel in the business. We carry a large inventory of BMW gear in our San Francisco showroom so come on down for a fitting or call (415-503-9956) for additional information on specific items.
Arai Helmets
Arai Helmets are consistently ranked highest by J.D. Powers and we have some of the best prices around on these high quality 'lids'. Come into our showroom to have one of our parts associates measure your head and get you in the right shape & size helmet. Accessories
A stock bike is cool, but a customized bike is that much cooler. We completely understand the unique connection that some level of customization creates between a rider and their motorcycle so we've compiled a list of the best aftermarket manufacturers of parts for BMW bikes.
Wunderlich
Wunderlich is a German aftermarket parts manufacturer that has been specializing in BMW parts for a long time. The U.S. importers are based out of the Bay Area which means we can get most Wunderlich parts FAST! We also carry a number of the most popular Wunderlich accessories in our showroom, so please call us if you are looking for something in particular (415-503-9956).
Touratech
A German aftermarket parts manufacturer that specializes in parts for enduro/adventure motorcycles. Touratech tests all of their equipment on long distance tours throughout the world, which means their stuff is extremely practical and very rugged. Recently, Touratech has started to make parts for street/touring motorcycles so now even more people can start planning their world tour.
ZTechnik
ZTechnik is another company that has been making BMW motorcycle parts for a number of years and built a strong reputation on their quality products. We are particularly partial to ZTechnik's lines of windshields and carbon trim but all of their stuff works. Displaying replacement windshields can be tough so we don't stock many screens but we will be more than happy to order up whatever you need, so just give us a buzz and tell us how we can help.
